Temporary Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Officer
(Fixed term contract for a period of 9 to 12 months to provide Maternity and Long Term Sickness cover)
Grade 7 - £23,398 per annum, 37 hours per week (start date Sept 2017)
This person will play an important role in continuing to drive forward the Equality, Diversity and inclusion agenda. You will support the development and implementation of Equality and Diversity policies and procedures and provide day-to-day advice in this area, writing reports, accurate administration skills, analysing statistics, managing strategic plans and drive forward SFRS commitment to the work arising out of the Inclusive Fire Services Group.
Reporting to the Human Resources Contract Manager, you will have a varied workload and must be able to work to deadlines. The successful candidate will be proactive in supporting Managers to progress Equality and Diversity in their departments and to give advice on disability case work. You will be required to build on and maintain effective relationships with partners within voluntary groups, community sector, collaborative partners and other agencies.
It is essential that you have an up-to-date knowledge of employment and equality legislation as well as excellent communication skills and the ability to promote, support and adapt to change. Ideally you should be Graduate CIPD qualified or possess an equivalent suitable qualification/experience. At least 3 years demonstrable generalist HR or Equality and Diversity experience would be desirable.
This post will be based at our Headquarters in Shrewsbury.
