Now and within the next 12 months, we are looking for people to work within a small team dedicated to receiving 999 emergency calls, dispatching and providing support to operational fire crews dealing with emergency incidents.  Additional responsibilities of the team include a wide range of technical and administrative duties.

The vacancies available are:

Permanent Full Time / Part Time Firefighter (Control)

£21,125 per annum (pro rata part time)

A Two-day, two-night, four-day off duty system (1 day, 1 night part time) on a rotational basis that includes weekends and Bank Holidays is in operation until the end of year 2016. After which time duties will change to a self-rostering system.

Previous experience of emergency call handling is desirable. Interested candidates must have good written and verbal communication skills; excellent interpersonal skills; be computer literate with keyboard skills of at least 30 words a minute and be able to calm and control situations involving emergency calls.

Closing date is 5 September 2016 and interviews for these positions are likely to take place week commencing 26 September 2016.
