Description

This is an exciting time to be working within the Fire and Rescue Service.  In Shropshire we are transforming our Service, seeking further efficiency including changing ways of working.  Following the retirement of two key post-holders we are combining the HR and Administration teams under one leader and are seeking the ideal candidate for this brand new role.

Working as part of our Senior Management Team you should have experience at a similar level, ideally in the public or voluntary sector.

You will be leading the HR and Administrative teams to provide excellent service across our organisation.  You must be forward thinking, keen to embrace new technology and systems and happy to lead and manage change in your own teams as well as the wider organisation.

We are looking for someone who is professionally qualified (MCIPD or equivalent) with excellent communication skills at all levels.  You should be able to set and deliver against HR strategy as well as providing advice and guidance on all aspects of our work that affect our people.  You will be able to work with elected Members, have an eye for detail along with an understanding of the administrative governance framework within local government and be able to manage our legal support contracts.
