Description

This is an exciting time to be working within the Fire and Rescue Service.  We are transforming our Service, seeking further efficiency including changing ways of working.  Following the retirement of the current post-holder we are looking for a professionally qualified (MCIPD or equivalent) HR Manager with at least three years’ experience in a senior role to join our Management Team.

The main aspects of the role include:

  • Working as part of our Senior Management Team to provide advice and guidance on all aspects of our work that affect our people
  • Working proactively with our employees and managers to ensure effective people management practices are in place and consistently applied
  • Supporting our Service Transformation Programme including improving the efficiency of the HR function and maximising the potential of the HR information system (ResourceLink)
  • Implementing our new People Strategy

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a strong HR generalist, who is outcome focused and highly motivated
  • Have experience of managing a team and be comfortable to introduce and manage change
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships, instill confidence and support the development of managers on HR matters
  • Possess up-to-date knowledge of employment law and industrial relations with strong business acumen.
